Imran Khan faces additional challenges as NAB readies a case regarding the alleged misappropriation of telethon funds.

Imran Khan, the former prime minister and Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, remains entangled in multiple legal cases, with the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) adding another case accusing him of misusing telethon funds.

The anti-graft body in the country initiated an investigation into the former cricket star for alleged misuse of telethon-generated funds totaling Rs4.32 billion. Discrepancies in payments were discovered, prompting a request to upgrade the initial inquiry into a comprehensive probe after an application was filed with NAB headquarters to investigate fund embezzlement.

Imran Khan, the PTI chairman, is currently in jail, with his judicial remand extended until September 26, due to a case involving the leaking of state secrets. Despite a suspension of his three-year jail term in the Toshakhana case, Khan remains in Attock Jail.

He faces over 150 cases, including blasphemy and terrorism charges, and his judicial remand in the cipher case was recently extended to late September.
