    The Pakistan Navy has recently commissioned its first MILGEM ship constructed in Turkey, marking a significant move to bolster the nation's defense capabilities. The commissioning ceremony, held at Istanbul Shipyard, featured Turkish Defense Minister Yashar Guler and Caretaker Defense Minister Lt. General (retd) Anwar Ali Haider as chief guests. Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi also attended the event as a special guest.


    Turkish Defense Minister praises the commissioning of the MILGEM ship as exemplary and recognizes the cooperation in defense production. He applauds the efforts of Istanbul Naval Shipyard and Turkish firm ASFAT, expressing gratitude to the Pakistani government for assistance during recent earthquakes in Turkey. Pakistan's Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi, emphasizes that PN MILGEM Ships, equipped with advanced weaponry and sensors, will be pivotal in upholding regional peace and stability.


    Admiral Niazi calls for increased defense production cooperation, particularly in the maritime sector, between Islamabad and Ankara. He expresses satisfaction with the indigenization efforts within the Pakistan Navy and highlights the significance of modern warships built in collaboration with Turkey.
